The Organization of Employees from Africa at UVA has signed a fiscal agreement with the Alumni Association of UVA. This will allow the organization to further develop its website and communications, conduct conferences and educational events for members, partner with other UVA groups such as the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and most importantly, to hold community events and activities. Of the several goals of the OEA, community outreach and involvement carries the most significance, especially after the challenges imparted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The organization was founded at the end 2019, but the then-upcoming pandemic rendered communication and planning difficult. Signing the fiscal agreement is the first step in achieving the array of both inter-group and community goals and in working towards the opportunities which the pandemic erased. President Christian Ignoumba signed the agreement on 21 October, 2021.
